DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Tiffany & Co, New York, Swiss, split-seconds chronograph, mvt likely by C.H. Meylan, 46mm, 18K gold OF original Tiffany & Co. case with initials to rear, flush hinges, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-SS, lever escapement, 16-17J, fausses-cĂ´tes pattern nickel damascene, s#6900 with matching serial number within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 58.1 dwt (90.3 g). This movement is of interesting design with its second wheel not located at center; the chronograph work is on the back plate with split mechanism under dial and with the main sweep going directly through the center and also having a cannon under the dial that carries the split.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, good chronograph function, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, missing regulator spring, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches to plates, some oxide to steelwork; excellent dial with few scattered minuscule nicks; excellent hands; case shows medium wear, scattered fine scratches to cuvette and rear, dent to lower right perimeter of rear, some dings to band and some mild dings to rear, reduced engraving detail with small areas of full loss, rear with a bit of play at its hinge; tight bow, crown shows light wear with small ridge break; good glass crystal.
